The method uses compressor (1), condenser (2), choke (3), sub-cooling countercurrent (4), evaporator (5) and refrigerant store (6). It involves selectively charging and discharging a storage of refrigerant components in the compression circulation of refrigeration machines and heat pumps with refrigerant mixtures. The separation of at least one component of the refrigerant mixture, which evaporates at a relatively low temperature, results through adsorption or absorption at a medium. The injection of the refrigerant component results through desorption, and the cooling power of the circulation is controlled by influencing the composition of the refrigerant mixture.
