Fastening for artificial tooth

The implant or artificial tooth is inserted into a human jaw (11) using anchoring bores which are drilled in the jawbone. There is a vertical bore down through the top of the jawbone which runs into a horizontal blind bore entering from the side. A jig (26) is used to guide the positioning of the two bores. The jig consists of two flat plates (28,29) which are monolithically joined at one edge to make an L-shape with an obtuse angle (alpha). The L-shape with one arm lying horizontally and having two bores so that it may be fastened to the bone by self-tapping bone screws (34). There are tubular guides (31,32) extending outwards from the flat plate to ensure that the holes in the bone are drilled in the right place. The axes of these tubes intersect at an angle (beta) which is especially 90 degrees.
