The invention relates to a method for the catalytic decomposition of NOx contained in waste-gases from cement production. The reaction takes place at temperatures of 300-700 DEG C with NH3 in the presence of a FeSO4-containing catalyst. To reduce catalyst consumption, the catalyst which is activated simultaneously during the catalytic decomposition is removed from the reaction chamber and then returned to it.
