Counter=spindle lathe

The lathe has a main spindle and a counter-spindle. The counter-spindle (5) is connected to the cross slide (11) and/or the bed carriage (8) in such a way that workpieces (4, 7) held by the main spindle and the counter-spindle can be machined simultaneously. The counter-spindle has its own feed drive (16), purely for carrying out the machining movements. The workpiece carrier (12) with tools (19, 20) directed towards the two spindles can be turned between the workpieces, at least in certain positions of the bed carriage.
