PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel in which contrast of display is improved, and in which visibility of display is improved, and a manufacturing method in which it can be efficiently manufactured. SOLUTION: On a substrate 11 on the display surface side, a line electrode pair, and a dielectric layer 16 to cover the line electrode pair are provided, and on a substrate 21 on the back surface side disposed to face the substrate 11 on the display surface side through a discharge space 30, row electrodes 18 extended to cross line electrodes, and a phosphor layer to emit light by discharge are provided to form a plasma display panel, where a color film 14 comprising inorganic pigment layer that is sufficiently thin compared to the dielectric layer 16 is provided between the substrate 11 on the display surface side and the line electrode pair and the dielectric layer 16, thereby contrast of display is improved, with formation of the color filter 14 performed efficiently. |
