PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time and labor of character input of the inputting person of handwritten characters by executing a character recognition processing at all times in the middle of the input of the handwritten characters, displaying character recognition processing results and predicting the characters, words or sentences in the middle of the input. SOLUTION: Stroke data inputted by the inputting person of the handwritten characters by using a transparent tablet 1 and a pen 9 for the input are stored in a stroke buffer 8 and the inputted stroke data are displayed at a liquid crystal display device 7. Then, based on the information of the input position of the inputted stroke data and the switch of the pen 9 for the input, etc., whether the input of one handwritten character is continued or the input of a new handwritten character is started is judged. Then, at the time of judging that the new handwritten character is inputted, a character recognized result previously recognized and displayed at the liquid crystal display device 7 is established as the character equal to the inputted handwritten character. Thus, the labor and time of the character input of the handwritten character inputting person are reduced. |
