PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to simply plot a mathematical expression from a keyboard to an optional position on an input display screen by inputting the expression in accordance with a previously determined grammar, calculating the sizes, relative positions and shapes of symbols constituting the expression based on the inputted data and plotting the expression on a specified position of the display screen. SOLUTION: A mathematical expression is inputted to a display screen in a normal document input mode in accordance with a previously determined grammar (step 1). The sizes, relative positions and shapes of symbols constituting the expression are calculated based on the inputted data (step 2) and the expression is plotted on the specified position of the display screen based on the calculated results (step 3). Consequently a mathematical expression and a document other than the expression are simply inputted without switching an operation mode and easily edited and corrected. On the other hand, the expression is plotted on an optional position of the screen while holding the relative positional relation of symbols. |
