Water desalination plant

A method for the desalination of liquids containing salt, preferably salt water (especially sea water), to form a salt-free liquid and a separate salt-enriched sol, includes the step of spray-drying the sol. Also claimed is an apparatus used for this method, comprising a high pressure pump for the sol, linked to a spray nozzle system that sprays the sol into a drying chamber.
