The interior light consists of a plastic housing for holding a tubular lamp and a diffuse plate. The housing has at least one sprung clamping strap for holding the tubular lamp and the housing inner wall has associated conducting tracks for supplying current to the tubular lamp. The housing is a box (1) open on both sides and a base part (2) force and/or shape connected to it. The conducting tracks are flexible conducting foil strips (8) forming part of the vehicle's wiring fit and a strap (9) which folds out of the foil track. The conducting foils are applied to rails and wall-shaped guide bodies (5,6,4) on the inside of the box-shaped housing part. The foil is attached to the base part and the rail-shaped guide body along part of its length. The sprung clamp strap (22) is formed from the base part and engages behind the unfolding strap.
