The clamping tool (10) clamps a tube end in an aperture (42) in a wall (40) into which the tube is inserted. The tool has a headpiece (28) for insertion in the open end (44) of the tube (46). There is an axially movable spreading cone (26) in the region of the headpiece. The clamping elements can be moved radially away from the spreading cone against the inside (45) of the tube end, thus clamping the tube end to the wall. The clamping elements are in the form of balls (32). There may be a stop (38) at the front end region of the tool, which can be laid against the wall.
