<p>A releasable connector (10) for electrically connecting a cable (18) to a generally cylindric battery post (11) comprises a body portion (8) adapted for substantially surrounding and clamping the connector (10) to a generally cylindric battery post (11) and a cable attachment portion (20) connected to the body portion (8) for conducting electricity between the body portion (8) and a cable (18). The structure of the body portion (8) being comprised solely of a strip of sheet metal (6) coated with a thin layer of electrically conductive corrosion resistant material configured to create opposed partially cylindrical section shapes (12, 14) with juxtaposed free ends normally inwardly biassed in compression towards one another for clamping about a substantially cylindric battery post (11). The structure of the body portion (8) further being configured in the region of each free end to receive a device (16) for moving apart through rotation the normally inwardly biassed partially cylindrical section shapes (26, 28) from one another from an otherwise compressing condition about a battery post (11).</p> |
