PURPOSE:To obtain the title particles suitable as a carrier for immobilizing bacteria and enzymes, for ion-exchanging material, and for adsorbing perfumes and chemicals by preparing cellulose particles having large diameters and contg. many large pores communicating with each other. CONSTITUTION:The title particles comprising cellulose, taking spherical shapes with diameters of 5mm or higher when swelled by water, having gently uneven surface, and contg. many small holes and cracks on the surfaces are prepd. The particles have a partially communicating pore structure wherein the internal structure comprises a large number of pores and walls, the pores having from large to small diameters are randomly mixed, each pore is independently surrounded by walls, the diameter of a section at the central part of the minor axis of the pore is 150mum or higher, the section is almost circular or polygonal, and the pore communicater with part or the whole of the adjacent pores through small holes or cracks penetrating through walls. |
