The burner (1) consists of at least one inner part-body (2) which is conical in the direction of flow. At least one outer part-body (4) is conical in the opposite direction to the inner part and is enclosed in at least one casing-pipe (8). Combustion air (13-15) flows through and onto the inner and outer parts. The inner and outer part form a central flow body with an intermediate inflow area (5). The two conical walls of the inflow area each contain tangential air-inflow slots (11,12) for the main proportion of the combustion air. One set of air inlet slots leads into an inner area (6) belonging to the inner part. The other set of air inlet slots leads into an annular through flow section (7) formed by the outer part and casing pipe.
