Optical fibre transmission system in normal dispersion mode

The system uses a number of filters which have frequencies variable as a function of the transmission distance in the frequency band corresponding to the normal dispersion mode of the optical fibre. The rate of variation of the function associating the transmission distance with the frequencies has an absolute value between 6 and 120 GHz/Mm and is preferably between 16 and 60 GHz/Mm. The length of the optical fibre has a positive dispersion in the frequency band to compensate for the cumulative dispersion in the rest of the optical fibre. The optical fibre is at least 6Mm in length. The transmission signals produced have Non-Zero or Zero Return functions.
