In domestic electrical appliances with a steam generator, a steam using component and a tube (T) for conveying the steam from the generator to the steam using component, a device (10) is provided for controlling the flow of steam having parts (13,16) that constrict the tube (T) when actuated by an external control (19). This device (10) is reliable and can be fitted without having to cut the tube (T).
