In the sheet welding machine, the heated welding strip (4) has fastening units (10) which join it to a carrier (2). The carrier is subject to thermal expansion. The carrier is moved at right angles to the strip, i.e. vertically. It lowers it onto, or retracts it, from the continuous plastic sheet being welded. The fastening unit includes a slide block running flat against the carrier section facing the welding strip (4). The slide block is constrained to move along the carrier. |
