The room has a power driven vertical sliding door (1) which hangs from two mechanically linked pulley wheels (3) on parallel ropes or belts (2) with counterbalance weights (9). A detector, which is built into the door frame, monitors the position of the door. The vertical sliding window carries power driven horizontal sliding windows (14) and detector, built into the door frame, to monitor the position of the windows. The rope or belt has a conductive reinforcing core which carries power for the drive motors and signals from the position detectors.
