The device comprises a transport device which has an electromagnetic linear drive (12). The linear drive may have a guide (11) in which a movable carriage (19) is arranged. The guide may be arranged in a strip provided with a linear measurement scale. The guide may be U-shaped containing permanent magnets to generate a magnetic field. The carriage may carry a coil which is supplied with a control current. A control computer may be provided which is in connection with the coil via a motor control and a drive part.
