The device is used to fix a cover rail (2) overlapping the edge of a stair (3). It is formed by a horizontal bar (4) lying on top of the stair tread and partially covered by the tread-board (11). There is a hole (8) for the cover rail fastener (13), situated at the free end (5). The tread-board is held tight between the cover rail and the bar. At its free end, the bar has a leg (6) pointing downwards which lies partly against the front of the step and held there by further fasteners (10). This leg is a support for a stair riser or kick plate (18). The riser or kick plate is overlapped by the cover rail in a positive locking fashion. |
