In a cooling unit for an absorption circuit, an absorber 1, a cooker 19, a conde nser 2 and an evaporator 22 are provided for, said absorber 1 being built by at least two m utually connected profiled plates which form lines and ports 10, 11, 12, 15, 16 for conn ecting said cooker 19 to said evaporator 22, wherein said lines are guided in meander p attern and two adjacent lines are mutually connected through at least one opening The a bsorber 1 can be pivoted by an at least partial inclination of the lines with respect to horizon from a neutral position by an axis extending parallel to the plate plane by more than 3.degree., preferably more than 6.degree., without the operation of the coo ling unit being impeded by the rotation of the plates This permits using the cooling unit also o n mobile vehicles and boats where frequently inclined positions will occur.
