PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize control characteristics fitting to the road condition in a constant-speed automatic traveling device for automatically adjusting the speed according to the inter-vehicle diatonic. SOLUTION: This vehicular traveling controller is provided with a forward camera 4 for detecting a forward road image, a traveling environment recognizing device 7 for detecting the edge of the image in the image and for determining the correction amount of the inter-vehicle distance and the traveling speed from the preset characteristics according to the number of detected edges, and an ACC controller 5 for determining the inter-vehicle distance and the traveling speed by adding respective correction amounts to the inter-vehicle distance and the set speed. The control characteristics considering how the condition of the road environment is recognized by the driver is determined. |
