PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seatbelt retractor which can be operated repeatedly. SOLUTION: The one end of the spring 32 for seat belt winding is connected to a spring case 34, which is rotated by an ultrasonic motor 24. When the spring case 34 is turned to A1 direction, a winding force is weakened and when it is turned to A2 direction, it is strengthened. When the collision of a vehicle is foreseen, the ultrasonic motor 24 is started rotatingly in a high speed. A phase difference is generated between an inertia body 360 and a claw holding ring 310 and a claw 330 is projected from the periphery edge of the claw holding ring 310 and meshed with the inward teeth 20N of a reel 20. Thereby, the ultrasonic motor 24 drives rotatingly the reel 20 directly in a winding direction. |
