PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a rise of a transfer layer even in the case of printing by a printer by laminating the layer made of resin composition obtained by dispersing non-water soluble thermoplastic resin in water soluble thermoplastic resin via a primer layer made of water soluble or water dispersible thermoplastic resin in a base material sheet-like state. SOLUTION: The thermal transfer sheet comprises a primer layer 3 provided on a base material sheet 2, and a transfer layer 4 provided on the layer 3. The layer 4 is formed of resin composition obtained by dispersing non-water soluble thermoplastic resin 6 in water soluble thermoplastic resin 5. To transfer an image to non-transfer cloth, an image 7 formed of thermal transfer ink is formed on a surface of the layer 4, the surface of the layer 4 is superposed on the non-transfer cloth 8, heated and pressurized from above the sheet 2 by using a heat source 9, and the layer 4 is adhered to the ink image 7. Then, the sheet 3 is released, and washed. After washing, the image 8 is fixed onto the cloth 8. Thus, the base material sheet is brought into close contact with the transfer layer to prevent its rise. |
