PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a process for regenerating a entire gradation reproduction curve by regenerating the gradation reproduction curve in response to a sample read out in a matrix multiplier and a lookup table. SOLUTION: In a smart sensor or a TRC reconfiguration system 102, a matrix multiplier 104 generates a reconfigured gradation reproduction curve (arrow 110) in response to a sample 106 and a lookup table 108. The lookup table 108 and the matrix multiplier 104 may be a part of a sensor system in a machine represented by a sensor 24 and may be stored in an appropriate memory in a controller 100, for example. In any case, the controller 100 regulates an appropriate element, e.g. a scorotron 12, a laser source 14 or a developer 18, in response to a reconfigured TRC. |
