PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce tolerance in bearing height, to make better the operating environment and to facilitate wastewater treatment in desmutting treatment at the time of producing an aluminum alloy bearing. SOLUTION: This method for producing an aluminum alloy bearing is the one in which a back plate layer composed of a steel is joined with an aluminum alloy layer to form into a semiproduct, and the surface of the aluminum alloy layer as the semiproduct is furthermore coated with an intermediate layer and an overlay in succession. In this case, after the surface of the aluminum alloy layer as the semiproduct is subjected to etching treatment, in desmutting treatment in which smuts adhered to the surface of the aluminum alloy layer are removed, an aq. soln. of, by weight, 20 to 60% sulfuric acid and 2 to 10% peroxoborate is used as a desmutting treating soln. As the peroxoborate, sodium perborate is preferably used. |
