A floating barrier for use in open water to retain oil slicks and other non-soluble floating solids, comprising a number of long cylindrical flexible units each consisting of a sleeve containing very buoyant cellular particles, with end connections for these cylindrical units and a longitudinal skirt for the suspension of ballast and a longitudinal tension rope, as in DT 1942930 is improved in that the connecting members are constructed flexibly and comprise suspended stirrups or strips for the attachment of anchor lines. Specif. a plug-sleeve connection may be used, and a tow line attachment may be provided. |
