PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform miniaturization, to simplify constitution and to perform use near the area of high sensitivity such as eyes or the like by irradiating a target with electromagnetic radiation beams through the opening of a thermoelectric cooling means. SOLUTION: A thermoelectric circuit is formed so as to cool one flat surface 52 of an annular ring 50 and heat the other flat surface 54 when a DC current is introduced through conductors 70 and 72 and is surrounded by the annular ring 50. The surfaces 52 and 54 are formed from a thermally conductive material. Then, an almost cylindrical opening is passed through and formed, a cooling surface 52 is arranged to the skin of a patient and directed to the target on the skin of the patient through the opening and it is irradiated with the electromagnetic radiation for treatment of a pulsed laser or the like. The opening is covered from the top of the cooling surface 52 by a window 60. A temperature sensor 68 is provided on the cooling surface 52 and a skin temperature is monitored. In such a manner, the skin is easily cooled. |
