PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce compression load and improve durability by reducing delivery capacity with a simple structure, in a high compression load condition. SOLUTION: This compressor guides pressure at a point inside a suction chamber 15 which forms a suction pressure area and a point inside a cylinder bore 40 in a suction stroke to the pressure sensitive chamber 53 of a capacity control valve 47 through the first and second pressure sensitive passages respectively. A switching valve 68 which is opened when a pressure difference between two points exceeds a prescribed value is provided on the way of the second pressure sensitive passage 62. The opening adjustment of the capacity control valve 47 is made based on the pressure in the suction chamber 15. The opening adjustment of the capacity control valve 47 is made based on the pressure at the position in the cylinder bore 40 in the suction stroke under the high compression load condition.
