PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new material having antimicrobial activities, isolated from an extract of culturing material of Colletotrichum fragariae, manifesting an inhibiting phenomenon of self germination and useful as an agent for controlling a plant disease. SOLUTION: The objective material is represented by the formula. The compound of the formula has physicochemical properties such as disposition of yellow white powder, a molecular weight of 386, a molecular formula of C22 H26 O6 , etc. The compound of the formula is obtained by extracting a culture products of Colletotrichum fragariae or a spore suspension thereof with a solvent and purifying the extract. Particularly, the compound is obtained by culturing the Colletotrichum fragariae in a potato-saccharide and agar medium for two weeks, dipping the cultured Colletotrichum fragariae in acetone with the medium, allowing the Colletotrichum fragariae in the dipped state for a whole day and night and performing extraction, filtering, etc., of the dipped material to obtain the objective material. |
