PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glass product capable of preventing the defection of a protecting film due to water drops, even when the condensation of dew is generated on the surface of the glass product, by covering a part or all parts of the surface of the glass produce with a protecting film comprising a specific water-soluble substance. SOLUTION: This glass product such as a glass plate, a glass bottle or a glass electronic part is dipped in the aqueous solution of a water-soluble substance comprising one or more kinds of polymers selected from the group consisting of a polyester, a copolyester, an alcohol polymer, an ester-alcohol copolymer and their mixtures and capable of being dissolved in >=30 deg.C, preferably >=40 deg.C, warm water, and subsequently dried to form a 0.01-1000μm, preferably 0.1-500μm, thick protecting film on a part or all parts of the surface of the glass product. Thereby, the defection and staining of a functional film on the glass product on whose surface the functional film such as a conductive film or a reflection-preventing film is formed can be prevented.
