PRODUCTION OF ION EXCHANGE CELLULOSE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to rather easily produce an ion exchange cellulose to which many functional groups having ion exchanging ability are bonded and which has high ion exchanging ability. SOLUTION: By this method, functional groups having ion exchanging ability are bonded to a cellulose prepared by milling a cellulose into fine fibers in a wet milling machine. The cellulose is preferably milling into fine fibers having the specific surface area between >=100m<2> /g and <=300m<2> /g. More preferably, the cellulose is milled into fine fibers by using a stone mill type wet milling machine which give shearing force and compressive force by rotation of the grindstone.
