摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject optical fiber good in reproducibility, good in accuracy and little in transmission loss due to the easy control of tension by changing the drawing tension of a 1550nm zone dispersion shift fiber in the longitudinal direction of the fiber to change the dispersion of light having a wavelength of approximately 1550nm. SOLUTION: The figure shows a device for drawing an optical fiber. The method for producing the optical fiber comprises drawing a bare fiber 3 from an optical fiber preform 1 heated in a drawing oven 2, measuring the outer diameter of the bare fiber with an outer diameter measurer 4, cooling the bare fiber with a cooling pipe 5, coating the cooled fiber with a liquid resin by the use of a resin-coating device 6, passing the coated fiber through an eccentric motor 7, curing the coated resin with a UV light-irradiation device 8, drawing the coated fiber with a capstan 21, and subsequently winding up the fiber on a drum. The drawing rate is controlled by controlling the drawing rate of the capstan 21. The tension of the fiber can be decreased by raising the temperature of the drawing oven 2, and the tension of the fiber can be increased by increasing the drawing rate. Thereby, the tension of the fiber can be changed by changing the temperature of the drawing oven and/or the drawing rate.
