<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover chemical components such as polyethylene, oil and HC1 from combustible general refuse containing polyethylene by-using an apparatus for heal-decomposing plastic-wastes by raising the temperature in a sealed vessel to one at which polyethylene melts and flows without being gasified in heat-decomposing the refuse in the vessel-under vacuum oxygen-free conditions. SOLUTION: The polyethylene is separated and recovered in a molten state from the remainder. The heat decomposition gas generated in the vessel is led from the vessel, and the steam, among the led gas, is condensed to recover oil. The formed gas except the oil is intoxicated by e.g. neutralization and recovered. When the refuse is a Polyvinyl-chloride-type plastic waste, HC1 is recovered by passing the heat decomposition gas formed when the temperature in the vessel is about 250-350 deg.C into water. The recycled and recovered materials are used as fuels for the heat source necessary for the apparatus or stored to reuse as fuels for other apparatus.</p> |
