<p>Cold heading machine comprises two parallel dies and three forging punches mounted on a common punch carrier and spaced to conform to the spacing of the dies. The punches are reciprocated axially relative to the dies and can be displaced sideways by a distance equal to that between the die axes. One of the heading punches is fitted for transfer of the workpiece between dies having a bore to accept the workpiece. In the prefd. version the dies are fitted with ejection pins. The machine affords versatility since it is able to transfer workpieces between dies.</p> |
