PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an additive composition useful for heightening the nonabrasiveness of lubricants and function fluids, especially automatic transmission fluids by mixing a boron-containing overbased substance with a phosphorus- containing acid, a phosphorus-containing acid ester or a derivative or mixture thereof, a borated friction modifier, a thiocarbamate and a dispersant/viscosity improver. SOLUTION: This composition comprises a boron-containing overbased substance (A), a phosphorus-containing acid, a phosphorus-containing acid ester or a derivative or mixture thereof (B), a borated friction modifier (C), a thiocarbamate (D) and a dispersant/viscosity imporver (E). Component B is desirably a composition containing a phosphorous ester (e.g. dialkyl hydrogenphosphite) and a monothioposphoric ester (e.g. triazole monothiophosphate). Component B is more desirably a composition containing phosphoric acid in addition to the above components. |
