PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tip and its manufacturing method which are capable of preventing the plugging or grinding-cracks of a grinding wheel when a cutting edge is formed, in which the forming of the cutting edge is easy and which are capable of preventing breakage of the cutting edge, and in which the application of dies for forming general tips is possible. SOLUTION: A cutting edge member 14 obtained by laminating a hard sintered body 16 such as a cemented carbide alloy, and a cemented carbide sintered body 17 such as diamond, CBN, is locked to at least one of corner parts 12 of a bed metal 11 so that the flank part 18 of the cutting edge member 14 is projected outward from the flank part 20 of the bed metal 11, and the flank part 18 of the cutting edge member 14 is ground so that the amountεof outward projected part from the flank part 20 of the bed metal 11 becomes less than 0.05mm, and the cemented carbide sintered body 17 is made flush with the hard sintered body 16.
