<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an algicide suitable as a solution, having a wide algicidal spectrum, by formulating a specific benzimidazole compound with a prescribed isothiazolin compound. SOLUTION: This algicide comprises (A) at least one isothiazolin compound of formula I [X<1> and X<2> are each H or a halogen; Y is H or a (substituted) hydrocarbon] and (B) at least one benzimidazole compound of formula II [ring A is a (substituted) benzene ring; Z is NHCOOR (R is a 1-6C alkyl) thiazolyl]. 5-Chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin3-one, etc., are used as the component A and methyl-2-benzoimidazo1ecarbamate as the component B. For example, 1 pt.wt. of the component B is formulated with about 0.01-20 pts.wt. of the component B.</p> |
