<p>Copolymerizable benzophenone photoinitiators of the formula I (see fig. I) wherein l, k = 0, 1 , 2. R1 =divalent organic group having 1 to 25 carbon atoms; R2 = H or methyl; and R3, R4 = organic group having 1 to 25 carbon atoms. X, Y = hydrogen, halogen or (C1 - C25) groups containing N, S, and/or O; and method of making the photoinitiators. The photoinitiators overcome the leaching problem with prior photoinitiators in radiation curable polymer applications. Radiation curable polymers, cured polyme rs, and coated articles are also disclosed.</p> |
