<p>Air permeable baskets open at the top carry the green leaf through the dryer and fermenter units. Air is moved through the leaf content in the baskets at right-angles to the layers. using blower exits fitted on top and bottom sides of the belt. Air is regulated in a conserver by a cooler and blower, by humidity and temps. control in the dryer and by water spray in the fermenter. Weighers are used throughout the line for weight checking and quality control. The leaf is not touched by hand throughout, is gently handled by the transfer and conveying systems, thus ensuring standardised processing within the short harvest period and maintaining high quality.</p> |
