<p>Barium- or cadmium-salts of higher fatty acids (eg. C5-20, pref. C8-12 such as lauric, caprylic), pref. in combination with phenolic cpds. e.g. hydroxybenzophenones, are used to stabilise fluorine-contg. vinyl polymers such as (co)polymers of vinyfluoride, against thermo-oxidative degradation during processing. The claimed stabiliser compsns. are synergistic and also have stabilising effect against the degradative action of light. The stabilisers are themselves stable to relatively high temps. as occur during processing of this type of polymer.</p> |
