A suction tube assembly is mounted to the sley frame of a shuttleless loom to grasp the weft yarn carried by a compressed air stream. The action of the sley drives the suction tube in and out of the shed area to give a consistent grasping and pulling action on the weft yarns, and their passage is not affected by turbulence or weakening of the compressed air stream.
