The elastic, expandable casing (6), when positioned in the container (1), leaves a gap (11) between its exterior and the interior of the container. The actual treatment fluid, eg. of chemical nature, is inserted and allowed to act in the gap, at the same time reducing the amount of fluid required for treatment.
