FIELD: production of activated carbons for heat treatment of materials in electric-carbon, gold-extraction, building, and other industries; reactivation of waste carbon sorbents. SUBSTANCE: furnace has casing accommodating cylindrical rotor, as well as heating elements, refractory heat insulation, material handling devices, gaseous agent admission pipes, and mixing device built up of plates uniformly arranged lengthwise of rotor at angle of 45 to 60 deg. ; heating elements are made in the form of gas burners installed inside casing lengthwise of rotor at distance of 0.2 to 0.4 of rotor diameter from the latter.
