Hydroxypropyl quaternary ammonium derivatives with a fatty acid ester function of formula R-CO-O-CH2-CH(OH)CH2-N<+))(R<2>)(R<3>) X<-> (I), in which R = 7-35C (11-23C) linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl chain; R<1>-R<3> = 1-18C linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl chain; X<-> = a halide or an anion selected from R<4>-O-SO3<->, R<4>-SO3<-> or R<4>-O-P(=O)(OR<5>)-O<->; and R<4>, R<5> = 1-8C linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl chain.
