Hydraulic anti-vibration support

The support consists of two rigid members (1,2) joined to the engine and chassis respectively and connected by an elastomer housing with a thick bell-shaped wall (7) surrounding a fluid-filled working chamber (A) linked to a compensating chamber (B) via a restricted channel (C). The bell-shaped wall is of rectangular section and has an central inwardly projecting boss (12) with four sides (15,16) facing the inner walls of the bell. Two of the opposite sides (16) of the boss are concave in shape, so that the boss has a narrow central section between them. The boss measures some 2.3-2.7 cm long by 0.8-1.2 cm high.
