<p>A one-trip whipstock assembly comprised of a mill 16, a whipstock 10, a whipstock anchor or packer (24, figure 6d) and a valving assembly. The assembly permits running in of all the equipment needed for setting and orienting the whipstock 10 and allows cement to be squeezed into the formation surrounding the borehole in one trip. The assembly includes a flowpath 32,34,42,46 which leads downwards to the whipstock packer (24, figure 6d) where valving (26, figure 6e and 100, figure 1d) is provided which allows for the squeezing to go on after the whipstock packer (24, figure 6d) has been set. Use of tandem valves (26, figure 6e and 100, figure 1d) isolates the squeezed portion of the wellbore from pressure build-ups downhole from the packer (24, figure 6d) or from a lateral further up the wellbore drilled using the mill 16.</p> |
