PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely, easily, and hermetically fit a metallic cover body onto the cylindrical mouth of a container and also easily separate the cover body from the container by breaking the body. SOLUTION: A metallic cover body 4 is fitted to the cylindrical mouth 2 of a container and a fitting wall 6 attached from the outside to the cylindrical mouth 2 provided with a peripheral line 3 at the outer periphery of the upper end, is connected to the periphery of the top plate 5. And a fixing projection line 8 wound at the lower end of the fitting wall 6 so as to curl inward is provided at the periphery to constitute the cover body 4. This cover body 4 is fitted to the cylindrical mouth 2 and the fitting wall 6 is caulked and further, the fitting projection line 8 is fixed to the peripheral line 3 from the downward direction to fit hermetically the cover body to the cylindrical mouth 2. The cylindrical mouth is pressed in the linear cylinder 20 from the opening end of a tapered wall part 21 in the condition that a raw material 4a of the cover body is temporarily assembled at the cylindrical mouth 2 and then the fitting wall 6 is caulked, by a cylindrical tool in which the continuously widened taper wall 21 is formed on the linear cylinder 20 having almost the same inner diameter-with the diameter of the top plate 5. |
