FORMATION OF HETEROANTIBODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new vector capable of deactivating the endogenous immunoglobulin gene locus of nonprimatial mammal, responsive to immunogen, and useful for producing transgenic animals having the ability to produce human immunoglobulin. SOLUTION: This vector is to deactivate the endogenous immunoglobulin gene locus of nonprimatial mammal, containing a DNA sequence homologous to part of the above gene locus. The deactivation mechanism comprises introduction of a disorder into at least part of the above gene locus by homologous recombination between the above DNA sequence and the gene locus. This vector is useful for producing transgenic nonprimatial mammals having the ability to produce human immunoglobulin but lacking in the ability to produce endogenous immunoglobulin gene by introducing human immunoglobulin gene into the genome of nonprimatial mammals containign this vector.
