PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber compsn. for tire treads which can provide tires retaining a high tanδin a wide temp. range, being soft, and exhibiting excellent wet grip properties. SOLUTION: This compsn. is prepd. by compounding 100 pts.wt. rubber component comprising a soln. polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber having a styrene content of 25-60wt.% as the major component and 5-20wt.% norbonrene polymer with 50-150 pts.wt. silica and 50-200 pts.wt. softener. A tire is provided which is produced from the compsn.
