BINDER-FREE MOLECULAR SIEVE ZEOLITE GRANULE CONTAINING LITHIUM, ZEOLITE-A TYPE AND LITHIUM ZEOLITE-X TYPE ZEOLITE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Li-zeolite granules which can be produced by a technically simple method, which can be used for air separation in a pressure swing adsorption method, which ensures a high yield of oxygen and high product capacity and which has resistance against fracture although it does not contain a binder. SOLUTION: This molecular sieve zeolite granule consists of Li zeolite-A and Li zeolite-X and contains no binder. To produce the zeolite granule, the powdery zeolites of Na zeolite-A and Na zeolite-X are mixed with a silica sol or other proper binder containing SiO2 and compacted to obtain a SiO2 - bonded granule. The obtd. granule is subjected to aluminization, while the SiO2 binder is converted into Na zeolite-A. The treated granule is subjected to exchanging with Li so that 60 to 100% of exchangeable cations in the zeolite are exchanged. Then the exchanged granule is activated at 300 to 650 deg.C.
